The Origin of World UFO Day
World UFO Day is observed worldwide on July 2 to raise awareness about flying saucers. This day, dedicated to the mystery and allure of UFOs, has fascinated millions since its inception.
WORLD UFO DAY: — All around the world, celebrate all those Unidentified Flying Objects. L. Lynne Irwin, one of the usual suspects in Ufology, says on social platform X... [ more » ] Beginning in 2001, it was founded by the World UFO Day Organization, which created this day. People usually celebrate this day on June 24 and July 2.
Historical UFO Sightings
World UFO Day has always been associated with monumental events in UFOlogy. The initial sighting claims Kenneth Arnold, a private pilot flying from Chehalis to Yakima, Washington, on a clear day on June 24, 1947, reported seeing nine UFOs moving at high speeds near Mount Rainier.
It is often called the first flying saucer sighting and was widely observed and covered by various media. The Roswell UFO Incident followed that on July 2nd-1947. One of the most famous and controversial events is a claim that an alien craft crashed on ranch land near Roswell, N.M.
Community and Belief
The description on the website of World UFO Day states that millions of people have seen a "UFO," and many even recall tales from their areas. This time is also for them to meet to support one another in maintaining those beliefs while honoring these phenomena altogether.
World UFO Day has become an international phenomenon celebrated worldwide by enthusiasts and the simply curious. The UFO movement has built over the years. The eyes of the flying saucer crowd continue to be repeatedly drawn back by messages pouring out around July 2, each June-like conference taking advantage of World UFO Day to spread its gospel amongst those that populate a world going wrong.
This is a time for everyone to come together on UFO day and finally get some answers as individuals from all walks of life pondering away the depths of unknown belonging among us.
Platforms for Dialogue
And it wants to do that with events, discussions, and engagements so the movement can truly strive "to open-mindedness" — yeah…platform for dialogue blah, dittyblahditty…) according to its website.
Many people have witnessed UFOs and, in their own words, explained them as different shapes or beings.
Over the years, many different ones have been reported, including disc, triangle cigar, and sphere-shaped UFOs, as well as rectangular UFOs, fireballs, or egg-like UFOs. These reports furrow the ongoing curiosity and possibility of extraterritorial life affecting our lives.
California's Role in UFO Sightings
California as High on the Chart of World UFO DayOn this great day in California, everyone is urged to go outside shortly after 8 pm and look up at the night sky for evidence of other-worldly company.
Since 1974, the privately run National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) has provided a valuable service in documenting and investigating these strange events. Bringing more reports than ever, the NUFORC debunks sightings by clarifying that many are just misconfigured objects; it also admits there is a part of them at hand that no one can explain (for now).
There have been 138 registered sightings of UFOs across California since the start of January. NUFORC has explained 52 reported incidents as planes, rocket launches, Starlink satellites, or even "space junk." But 86 sightings continue to go unsolved, much to the dismay and confusion - among both streakers and researchers.
UFO Sightings in Los Angeles
The outlet Patch discovered 15 UFO sightings, all with pictures from California towns that are probably used to seeing a flying object or two if they only keep their eyes open wide enough at any time.
Los Angeles - More than 25 people in Los Angeles alone came forward to report possible sightings or eerie incidents. Another witness reported seeing a shiny, bright, round disk that flew "really fast" in mid-June. They added: "There was some aura, or shape of a haze around the object.
A very bright white light moving incredibly fast to the northeast was reportedly sighted in Malibu. Quicker than anything I could think of! Shared the observer. Readers report seeing "reddish lights flying in formation over L.A. night skies" one year ago.
Santa Maria UFO Sightings
Santa Maria was also named a UFO hotspot this year, and five people had seen unexplained lights in the sky. A standout report was the "cigar-shaped UFO/UAP" sighted by one resident on June 20, which appeared to morph from clear to rainbow and silver.
Video footage shows the group hammering on a wooden door and breaking windows of an apartment before one man lays down atop this bridge.
Sacramento's capital, California, has had its own UFO sightings as well. Adding to the strangeness are five other reports this year: lights in the sky, a triangle object, and another square with even glowing green orbs. A Sacramento resident shared details in February of an incident involving "green glowing aura" objects hovering over the top of an apartment building.
Okay, two kids noticed "green lights from the horizon above their apartment complex" or whatever! Suddenly, these two square things came out of nowhere…just floating," she said. First, they were glowing green with two spikes and a central dot of the same color.
Santa Barbara's Sightings
Residents of the dark sky city perfect for stargazing, Santa Barbara, have also reported locally upsetting sightings and incidents related to Starlink satellites. Two residents had reported seeing a "bright round object in the sky" one night in mid-March. There was no way something that big would be a star, and it blinked out on the white lights, which stayed stationary in the black sky.
But the people went out to their backyard and continued viewing it. Silent, cube, or rectangular through field glasses. It did this for about 5 minutes, slowly moving out into the ocean away from us. My friend and her husband, who lived about six miles south of us, had seen the same thing in the sky just a week before.
The city of Indio is in the California desert, not far from a military base at 29 Palms, and has been another hot spot for UFO sightings. In April, a trio of NASA scientists on an EVA observing the stars claimed they were witnessing something strange. Dark Entity: It was as if seeing astronomical objects would be unfamiliar to them...
NASA Scientists' Observation
They sped past the speed of wind toward our moon and flashed with light to what they first were weather balloons. One of the scientists said, "That light (actually more than one) in was a perfect 'V' shape or triangle. They marveled that they couldn't be drones doing their own thing.
A few moments later, we got an encore presentation: flying objects performing together while crisscrossing from each other to closer, "nearly playfully. This was only seen by a few of us, and I count myself as one.
Guidance from NUFORC
The National UFO Reporting Center advises on what those might be if you are unsure how to identify a UFO. They will tell you to share your experience if they still need to. We all know that "the truth is out there."
So, although World UFO Day is a reason to celebrate, for many enthusiasts, scientists, or the average man walking down the street, it presents an open invitation to begin exploring a world of mystery.
It shows that despite all our advancements in science and technology, we still have many unanswered questions to dream about. So, if you are a skeptic, a believer, or want to learn more, World UFO Day is not discriminating.
The Quest Continues
Since the early sightings of Kenneth Arnold and continuing investigations by NUFORC, the quest for understanding UFOs has been a vibrant field; it remains one in science and popular culture.
While the evidence continues to pile up, and with technological advances, even more sightings are being recorded by people worldwide - it tends to paint a bigger picture of the possible origin of these objects but also creates new questions. This has served as a conversation starter, bringing like-minded lovers of truth together to discuss and share ideas, thus creating an atmosphere where everyone can talk freely.
